‘Tis the season to give
With the festive season fast approaching we have set out to help those in need in the local, Yorkshire, area this winter.
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund
Last Christmas, instead of staff Secret Santa, we visited LGI to distribute gifts amongst the children on the heart ward and we are doing the same this year.
Over 400 children have open heart surgery at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit each year and many of those children will be spending Christmas at Leeds General Infirmary. With this in mind, we will be taking the time to visit and donate gifts to Children’s Heart Surgery Fund that will then be distributed across the LGI’s young heart patients.
St Georges Crypt
In 2016, it was reported that 3,700 people in the region were approaching Christmas without a home. Leeds based charity, St Georges Crypt, work with the homeless, the vulnerable, those suffering from addiction and those without shelter who are in particular need over the winter months.
We will be donating a number of Christmas boxes containing items such as hats, gloves, underwear and scarves. If you would like to make a donation then please get in touch with Ed via email on firstname.lastname@example.org or contact St Georges Crypt directly.
On Friday 8th December we will also be holding a Christmas Bake-Off within the MET Marketing office. Staff will go head to head in a bid to be crowned star baker! All cakes will be donated to the Crypt.
Look out over next few days and hear from our bake-off stars as they introduce their winning tactics for this year’s competition.
