MET Christmas Tasting: Christmas Sandwiches
The MET Christmas helpers have been busy this past couple of weeks, with some top secret taste tasting. The team have been scouring the food aisles to find the best Christmas treats for your office Christmas lunch or party – to save you valuable time! We can’t exactly say that it’s been a tough job, although we’ve had some surprising outcomes and divided opinion across sweet and savouries alike. We’ll be taking you through five top Christmas foods throughout the week, directing you to the best of the best.
On the first day of our MET Christmas, we are helping you to decide on the best Christmas Sandwich out there. It was a close run thing but we think everyone was happy with the winner.
There were 5 taste testers scoring each area out of 10, and the total across all three categories is out of 150.
And The Winner Is….
Marks & Spencer – Turkey Feast
This sandwich was a consistent scorer, coming top for texture & filling and second on overall taste. Tom noted ‘Juicy Cranberries, a nice all-rounder and solid performer’.
A worthy runner up from….
Boots – Turkey Feast
Another consistent performer which came out top for taste, and at £2.75 is 75p cheaper than M&S. Great taste and value. Kane was very enthusiastic about this sandwich ‘Christmas has come early, what a little dancer that is.’ (Nope, we don’t understand it either).
For the healthier amongst us, Tesco was lowest in sugar followed by Sainsbury’s and Boots. That was maybe telling in that Tesco was voted the least favourite sandwich out of the 6 tested. Pret, at the most expensive performed disappointingly in all areas.
