MET is now recruiting for a leading Retailer Yorkshire. This business is now looking to significantly strengthen their insight team with the appointment of an Effectiveness and Analysis Manager.

This is a key role within the business and the post holder must be capable of challenging, influencing, making strong decisions and effectively managing relationships whilst demonstrating a passion for customers.

The Role:
·Accountable for marketing effectiveness; bringing together data analytics/
econometrics and insights across different marketing media to compare and contrast customer response
·Responsible for delivering all Econometric modelling and post campaign reviews challenging marketing team and advertising and media agencies to make improvements to creative execution, advertising content and media buying so that the business optimises the ROI from its Marketing Investment
·Analyses in detail the campaign creatives, content, media decisions and media buying to deliver insight and cost comparisons to the Marketing team and agency partners and ensures learnings are embedded in future strategies and campaigns
·Accountable for providing behavioural data models which increase the trading board members understanding of customer behaviours and how to drive customer growth
·Develop new methods of evaluating marketing performance/define relevant success metrics within emerging media channels such as digital/social and uses these insights to set campaign targets with the Communications team
·Lead expert on competitor pricing; delivering insight to the weekly price basket meeting and challenging buyers to maintain price competitiveness and adhere to the Stay Low pricing strategy
·Responsible for translating the Ipsos counter data, providing insights and recommendations to the Sales meeting and Retail controllers and Area Managers on areas to drive footfall, customer and conversion
·Delivers to Trading Board, through the monthly Insight dashboard, evidence of market performance across all categories, their value and volume contribution to the business which shapes business decision making around category strategies and activity plans
·Owns preparation of the Business Review for Strategic Marketing; developing reporting/dashboards for monthly updates of Strategic Marketing activities and plans


The Person:

·5 years (as a minimum) practical experience of working in Insight / Data Analytics business functions
·Educated to degree level (preferably with a degree in a business, statistical or finance based subject). Equivalent qualifications and/or analytics experience are also acceptable
·The candidate must have significant experience of managing analysis and modelling of disparate data sources ,in a large retail or financial services organisation.
·Experience of translating complex data insights from high volume data sources into implications and actions easily understood by non technical stakeholders.
·Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - ability to present findings in a succinct, action focused and engaging way across all levels of the business up to board securing engagement of others in taking action
·Ability to champion the 'data insights' in such a way as to influence and challenge business decisions around the winning proposition for the business.
·Must be able to provide succinct summaries from disparate sources of data which clearly communicate learning's and actions for the business.
·Advanced user of Excel essential
·Experience of developing market tracking, price monitoring and managing data analysis through external suppliers.
·Experience of using database and information portal technologies and use slice and dice reporting tools such as faststats, business objects, sas, spss.
